Old Town Houz

Even if most of their stuff comes from a central kitchen, I have to say there are variations from outlet to outlet when it comes to most of the menu items at Old Town White Coffee. Possibly the biggest variance is in the eggs.

I don’t care what anyone says – it takes skill to make a perfect half boiled egg. Even with those egg boilers! I once had eggs which were closer to poached than half boiled. These were at The Summit branch of Old Town, and luckily, I was regular enough of a patron to be placated, and new eggs being made for me.

The eggs at the Houz Depot outlet of Old Town were fine, and so was the brown bread toast with kaya. In fact, all of the food tasted exactly as they are meant to taste. So, thus far, this outlet outstrips the Brickfields one for consistency; is on par with the one at Taman Megah for service, but still can’t beat The Summit for the friendly servers named Rose and the Filipino Amando.

Simple is good, sometimes.

Brown bread and kaya. That's gotta be healthy...right?
