Nephew Jerred Turns One!

My brother and sister-in-law celebrated their one-year-old’s birthday with a small dinner party for friends and family where they turned the guests loose on the ala carte menu at Fullhouse, Sunway Giza. A dangerous thing to do with foodie relatives, but it certainly gave us lots of scope for reporting.
The oyster shooters looked chic, but were a wash out with bland, insipid flavour, and an unforgivable melted ice and sauce mix. RM10.90 for the murder of innocent molluscs in tomato celery, lemongrass lychee and citrus slush.
Forest mushroom soup was rich and creamy, with nicely roasted flaked almonds. A tad salty, but generally okay for RM8.90.
Seared Atlantic salmon with deep-fried lotus root, Asian greens and teriyaki glaze was a good East-West combination at RM26.90.
Oysters Mornay were a lot better tasting than the shooters. Filled with a rich spinach and cheese sauce, three pieces were RM15.90.
The grilled mixed seafood featured Atlantic salmon, mussels in half shells, scallops, prawns and squid with sauteed Shitake mushrooms and orange emulsion. Pretty tasty for RM26.90.
Some people loathe it, but papaya milkshake is actually a nice combination. RM7.90.
The kid in me loved the rose strawberry magic ball blended, which features these syrup-filled jelly balls which pop in the mouth. RM8.90 for a fun mouthful!
Lavender flower tea is calming and very comforting on a cold night. The fact that it is refillable is a plus point of the RM6.90 pot.
The eating got a bit out of hand after this. We also ordered the Wrap From Rome which is a smoked salmon, romaine and crouton salad at RM12.90. The Chicken Parcel is an oven roasted fillet of chicken stuffed with mushrooms and Chinese herbal jus which was very, very good. Tender and original, it was worth the RM22.90.
