How Your Garden Grows...

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And if the English basil is having a growth spurt, make sure you use it in its prime!

It really is lovely to have a garden of herbs. It is even better when the herbs are actually used! As Kit bemoans, some of the best-thriving herbs in our yard are things we do not cook with - things like the daun laksa or kadok. He has tried drying kaffir lime leaves and infusing them, but after a sip of the sharp, biting tisane, we never went that route again. The mint dried well and made good tea, and the rosemary has a place in the herb cabinet, but generally, when we have a herb glut, it goes to waste.

This time, since there was bacon in the fridge, Kit sliced up English basil to garnish a lovely spaghetti olio. Yum!
The stuff of good eating!
All dressed and ready to be devoured.
