Chili's At Citta

Sharon Lee and I had a great experience at the newly opened Chili's at Citta Mall last year. It all came down to one guy in the end, the Restaurant General Manager, Loh Chi Kin. Service on the whole was good, with the Myanmar and local floor staff being sprightly and cheery. However, it was Loh who clinched the deal.

I was in desperate want of a Bloody Mary and was let down that the outlet did not have their liquor license yet. However, Loh insisted on dressing my tomato juice up into a Virgin Mary, which was a really sweet thing to do, seeing the new outlet was already jumping. Rapport established, he came back to check on us as we tucked into tostada chips (RM12.95, refillable), a Triple Play starter (RM27.95) and beef quesadillas (RM34.95. When I laughingly showed Loh the terribly barky celery which accompanied the Triple Play, he insisted on coming back with a new plate.
Tostada chips.
Triple Play with extra roughage!

Beef quesadillas.

Unfortunately these were equally woody and old. Even without the great service, it would not have been a deal breaker, but the gesture really warmed me, to the extent that I even bothered to go online and fill in the Chili's survey - just in the hopes the management really read and took comments to heart and continue to reward Loh's hard work and great personality. After all, he has been with the chain for a goodly few years, and has risen from busboy to server, to manager and now restaurant GM. It's a small flicker of hope for the dire hospitality industry!
