The Japanese are food artists. From too-cute little candies featuring Sanrio characters, to an array of confectionary, the Japanese are, to me, Asia’s coolest sweetmeat makers. My grand-aunt went to Japan and brought me back a box of these cocoa powder covered white chocolate nuggets.
They came individually wrapped in foil, and survived the temperature change quite well, with little melting. Taste –wise, they were significantly better than local Malaysian chocolates. A laugh really, seeing that the Japanese consume way less diary than Malaysians.
I liked the texture of the cocoa on the white chocolate, and loved the fact the white chocolate did not feel waxy on the tongue. Erin liked it as well, and as she is not the run-of-the-mill child who scarfs down anything sweet, I tend to trust her judgement.
The pretty packaging is another Japanese hallmark. |
