Durian Indulgence

What a lovely thing it is to have friends who just happen to be hoteliers! A lovely cake was delivered to me this evening, right to my doorstep from Sunway Putra Hotel (formerly Legend Hotel Kuala Lumpur).

Durian Almond Dome: Cake of the month at Sunway Putra Hotel.

This was a lovely take on a durian cream cake.It uses fresh durian, but the pulp is mixed with white chocolate for a more milky consistency inside. There is also a mousse-like ganache layer of chocolate inside, with a base of moist chocolate cake. It's so delicate it melts in the heat, so it needs constant refrigeration, but it really is a lovely treat. It's available at the Lobby Lounge for RM90++ a kilo or RM9++ a slice. Certainly a worthy investment for a light, original take on a durian mousse cake!
